causality violation with 2.6.22-rc

Hi,
I am trying out linux-wlan-ng on Ubuntu Gutsy (in development), which
has a 2.6.22-rc kernel. The prism2_usb/p80211 modules in the Gutsy
linux-ubuntu-modules package don't work, iwconfig only returns "no
wireless extensions".

I therefore downloaded svn (1832) which builds and runs. I can use
network-manager as well. However, I get these messages:

hfa384x_usbin_ctlx(0): Causality violation: please reboot Univers
e, or email linux-wlan-***@lists.linux-wlan.com

These messages also come if I just enable the card with wlanctl-ng in
a init=/bin/bash rescue shell, after loading the modules.

Anyone else seeing this?

Regards,
Tormod

I get these messages when using the built-in USB-1 ports of my laptop.
When plugging the prism2 adapter into a USB-2 pcmcia card, I don't get
them.

Tormod,

Don't worry about these messages - they are harmless. Don't run in DEBUG mode if you want to
ignore them. Basically, they date back to a time when we didn't know if USB hardware would return
reply data before the request had been acknowledged. And it turns out that some hardware can.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris,
Maybe the message should be removed or toned down a bit then?
